MV Museum Exhibit
African American and Wampanoag History Intertwined
At the Museum’s Adele H. Waggaman Community Gallery, this exhibition explores the work of photographer and writer Austin Bryant, who focuses on the connections between African American and Wampanoag communities on the Island over the past several hundred years. Featuring a mix of his own photography, archival images, and historical newspaper articles, he rebuilds the histories lost to time and erasure.

Jaws at 50: A Deeper Dive
Explore the story behind one of cinema’s most iconic films.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of JAWS, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum is proud to present the first-ever comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the film’s production on Martha’s Vineyard. Through photographs, oral histories, original art, and movie props, this exhibit will delve into how the Island became the fictional Amity Island, showcasing the Vineyarders who brought the movie to life and the enduring legacy of Spielberg’s blockbuster.

MV Playhouse
The MV Playhouse Presents “Chilmark” Written & Directed by Catherine Rush
In nineteenth-century Chilmark, deafness was not a disability. Some people could hear, others could not. And everyone learned sign language as a matter of course. This is the second production of a compelling drama that premiered at MV Playhouse in 2018 about a remarkable community, based on historical events.

In recognition of the rising importance of documentaries to public dialogue, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society is proud to announce its eleventh annual Documentary Week from July 28 to August 1, 2025.
Documentary films have become the conscience of the nation, providing a deeper study of contemporary, and often unnoticed, social issues. By using the unique medium of film, Documentarians are able to cultivate a more compelling and fruitful discussion by mixing strongly-driven narratives with vivid imagery.

Mv Playhouse
The MV Playhouse presents “Uncle Chris” A new play by Allison Snyder and Christopher Hemphill
Sometime between 1982 and 2022, in a building between Lexington and Park, a brother and a sister find themselves living together once again. Adapted from the letters and diaries of ghost writer Christopher Hemphill, Allison Snyder tells her uncle’s story in this zany and tender comedy about a family desperate to stay together whilst also staying apart.

Annual Memorial Day Picnic at the Tisbury Waterworks. Monday, May 26th 12-4PM. Live music, games, boating and more! Bring your on picnic food. Free ice cream provided. Everyone is welcome (please leave your dog home). 325 West Spring Street. The VTA stops at the Overlook between 11:30 and 4.

MV Playhouse
Seeger is an award-winning, critically acclaimed, multimedia solo show about America’s beloved folksinger/activist, Pete Seeger. Spend an evening with Pete as he plays a benefit concert advocating the end of the U.S.-Cuban trade embargo, where he uses a dozen of his signature songs, including “If I Had a Hammer,” “Turn, Turn, Turn,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” “We Shall Overcome,” and “Guantanamera,” to tell the story of his awakening as an activist, and his struggle with the Blacklist.
